History
Expression bar was founded in 2019 by Marco in Lisbon Portugal, serving corporate events across the country. In 2024 the brand expanded into the UK with new regional headquarters based in London and serving the whole country whilst continuing to serve clients in our native Portugal. Subsequently, we brought on our UK bar manager Kendal an actor who has worked in various theatre and movie productions and Solomon our head of media who has worked on high end sets as a camera operator.

Meet the Team
Marco
Grand Pappy of Pints
Born in the UK, raised in Portugal, Marco moved back to the UK after a career of professional tennis to join the Parachute regiment. Marco now represents the British Army Tennis team, where he holds the Army Tennis Champion title. When he's not jumping out of planes Marco is making sure sure our bar operations are always high-flying and everyone lands safely after their shift
Kendal
The Staffing Stirrer
Kendal is a professional actor working across the UK. When she isn’t starring in theatre productions, Kendal makes sure that everyone in the bar performs their roles flawlessly—without any improv in the schedule.
Phil
Brewmaster General
Phil is our go-to business guru, the kind of guy who can turn a great night out into a great business plan. With years of experience advising startups and hospitality ventures, he’s the steady hand steering the ship behind the scenes. Whether it’s forecasting trends, refining strategy, or just making sure we’ve thought three steps ahead, Phil’s got it covered. He may not be behind the bar shaking cocktails, but his advice definitely keeps the good times flowing.
James
Keeper of the Kegs
James is a Durham University Economics graduate and currently crunches numbers as an accountant at PwC. When he isn’t filling in spreadsheets, he’s meticulously keeping track of every pour, garnish, and glass polish behind the bar. With an eye for detail and a love of precision, James brings the same dedication to crafting the perfect Mojito as he does to balancing the books. Whether you're after cocktail recommendations or just someone to calculate your tab lightning-fast, James has you covered.
Jess
Daiquiri Décor Director
Jess studied Interior Design at Norwich University of the Arts and is currently gallivanting across South America—collecting inspiration from jungle bars, beach cafés, and the occasional hostel hammock. Despite her ever-changing scenery, she still manages to design spaces that feel like home (if your home had better lighting and cooler furniture). Expect clever corners, mood lighting, and yes—at least one New Girl-inspired cushion tucked somewhere in the mix. Schmidt would be proud.
